Case Study: Our Lady of Sion

Commercial Air Conditioning Case Study

Our Lady of Sion

Situation: Our Lady of Sion College is a Catholic school for girls located in Box Hill educating around 960 students from Year 7 to VCE. The campus includes its very own chapel, a VCE centre comprising of sixteen learning areas, private study spaces and staff offices. It expands to a Year 7 and 8 Learning Centre, a large library and resource centre. In addition, it encompasses a beautiful 350 capacity performing arts theatre, physical education centre, and café with piazza.

Brief: Over the years the school has asked us to fulfil heating and cooling throughout several classrooms and to perform repairs to existing systems. We have installed new systems to meet the Students and Staff’s requirements in Music rooms, Science rooms, and communal spaces. While performing maintenance checks such as drains, noise, and refrigerant levels throughout the school.

Uniqueness: The sheer size of the campus brings with it a large set of responsibility just in the maintenance and up keep of their units. Regular cleaning, repairs, changeovers and new installations with building upgrades and expansions are all requested throughout the year.

Solution: The supply and installation of new split system air conditionings with special care being taken in the science labs. Minor equipment upgrades such as remote controls, air grilles and filters during regular maintenance checks when necessary. Annual ongoing service and maintenance up keep to requested units.

Time & team: August 2016 – Present

Outcome: Timely scheduling made without disruption to staff and students, fully compliant installations, zero safety issues, Working with Children Checks, and an ongoing service agreement for happier, healthier staff and students.
