Daikin VRV vs Mitsubishi Electric VRF System

There are people who erroneously assume that VRV and VRF are different. In fact VRV and VRF are interchangeable terms. The only difference is in the full meanings of their acronyms:

VRF = Variable Refrigerant Flow

VRV = Variable Refrigerant Volume, check Daikin VRV for details.

Though there is little difference in the names, VRF and VRV refers to the same HVAC technology that was invented by Daikin Industries, Ltd. in 1982.

VRV or VRF air conditioning systems are premier systems used to custom design larger buildings, such as luxury residential homes and commercial projects, allowing a wide and varied selection of indoor units and control systems to be connected to one or more outdoor units.

These systems are similar to the multi head split systems, the different is the outdoor units of VRV or VRF uses variable refrigerant flow control to provide consumers with the ability to regulate the temperature of a specific zone, whereas most air conditioning compressors either run at a single speed or are turned off.

Daikin VRV and Mitsubishi Electric VRF Systems – Features

Energy Efficient

Running cost is low as only rooms requiring air conditioning can be switched on independently.

Inverter Control distributes tempered air in the shortest period of time and ensures that the system operates at ideal capacity, minimising energy wastage.

Compact Outdoor Design

Available in a wide range of capacities whilst maintaining a compact installation footprint with long piping runs of up to 100m (24kW Model).

Intelligent Comfort

Wall mounted indoor units feature Daikin’s Intelligent Eye human sensor that ensures draught free comfort and energy saving operations when the room is unoccupied.

The Mitsubishi Electric 4-way cassette controls the temperature difference at the top and bottom in a room by checking the floor temperature with the “i-See Sensor”

Night Time Quiet Mode

Reduces the outdoor noise levels during sleeping hours and automatically resumes normal operations in the morning.

Ultimate Versatility

Connect as many as 14 indoors, ranging from wall mounted, floor standing, bulkheads, cassettes and ceiling suspended units.

Comfort for Everyone with Individual Control

Each indoor unit can be individually controlled, scheduled and set to the desired room temperature ensuring optimal comfort for all occupants.
